Dr. Antonio Garrido Montalban

As co-Director of research within Professor Tony Barrett's group, Antonio Garrido Montalban is involved with the supervision of research associates and graduate students working on the synthesis of natural products (clavilactones, viridiofungins and SNF4435C and D), cyclopropane containing macrocycles (coronanes) and porphyrazines. The latter research is in collaboration with Professor Brian Hoffman's group at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, USA.

Antonio Garrido Montalban's independent research revolves around the design, synthesis and application of novel Schiff base complexes, dipyrromethane hybrid macrocycles, multimetallic supramolecular polygons based on the 1,10-phenanthroline nucleus and bridging polypyrrolic subunits and lanthanide/actinide oxamate complexes.
