Before we began, Scheraga demonstrated that a simple dipeptide cyclized with a 6-aminocaproic acid (Aca) linker forms a b-turn which is in accordance with the naturally occurring turns.  The conformation of the peptidomimetic is determined by the dipeptide sequence when the Aca linker lacks stereochemistry.
