Signage, in good old English yards! By the way, it seems a quaint Wandsworth custom to (selectively) rotate one of these signs by 180 degrees, in order to confuse walkers! About 5 such signs for the Merton Mill had been rotated in the vicinity. They have been like that for years, since the rotations are now even recorded in local guidebooks!
