The Group’s Research Interests

Our main research interests are directed towards the design of new catalyst systems for the controlled synthesis of a number of industrially important classes of polymer. The Group employs a ligand-oriented design approach to target and stabilise single-site catalysts or initiators. Many of these are capable of mediating living polymerisation reactions with the potential to give polymeric materials with novel topologies and unusual molecular architectures. The following sections provide brief synopses of the Group’s past and present research activities, from fundamental studies on novel metal complexes to applications of new catalyst systems in polymer synthesis.
