Research Associate in Polymerisation Catalysis

Salary: £23,560 - £24,850 per annum

Fixed term appointment for 12 months

Applications are invited for a Research Associate to work on a joint NSF/EPSRC funded programme on

“Molecular Engineering of Polymers for Processing Performance and Properties”, a collaboration between

several UK and US Universities. The post is within Professor Vernon Gibson’s Group and will be concerned

with capitalizing on the latest rheological modelling approaches, developed at the University of Leeds, to

target new high performance polyethylene materials via single-site catalysis.

 

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Chemistry in a relevant field and experience in the handling of air and moisture sensitive

organometallic reagents and in the application of metallocene and other single-site catalysts for the production of polyolefinic materials.
