Fullerene Compounds
The fullerenes are a new molecular form of carbon, which since its discovery in 1985, has caused an immense amount of interest within the scientific community. It has long been known that carbon has two allotropic forms, Diamond (with its regular 3-d structure of carbon atoms) and Graphite (comprised of planar sheets of carbon atoms).
