2.3 Year three

The Enhanced Articles were the most significant milestone. These had been expanded beyond the original concept of just Chemical Communications to three other journals and has been adopted by the RSC as the most likely model for its forthcoming series of electronic-only journals. The framework for enhanced articles was being adopted by the RSC for electronic journals. However, important issues such as scalability needed to be further investigated and this was actively being studied by the RSC.

The main project deliverables had all been reached.

3.0 Evaluation of CLIC Project. The Evaluation Report (Leeds)

4.0 Final Project Finances.

Year 1: All claim based items associated with the project, totalling £49,911 had been claimed against invoiced expenditure. All recurrent items totalling £63,618 corresponded to the employment of Dr Riddick (Cambridge), Casher (Imperial) and Hildyard (Leeds).

Year 2: All claim based items associated with the project, totalling £7500 had been claimed against invoiced expenditure. All recurrent items totalling £74796 corresponded to the employment of Drs Chapman (Cambridge), Casher (Imperial) and Hildyard (Leeds) and A. Ravenscroft (Leeds) for the Project evaluation.

Year 3:. There were no claim-based items this year. Recurrent items corresponded to the employment of Dr Casher (10 months) and Hildyard (9 months). The remaining salary monies relating to Imperial would be used for financing the final CD-ROM production (ECHET98). The remaining salary monies relating to Leeds would be used to complete the Leeds evaluation. Because of the late appointment of Dr Chapman at Cambridge University, a new appointment for the duration of 1 year would be made shortly. This would be used to further the CLIC UGRIC authoring tool project.
