The OMF is an open group, which invites all interested parties to join. Different membership rates apply, depending on the status of the individual or organization wishing to join.
Three classes of membership are available, exectuive member, sustaining member and member. Furthermore, three types of member are recognised, not for profit, commercial and individual.
A not for profit organisation includes bodies such as: Universities, Research laboratories, Registered charities, and so on.
There is no charge, but institutes wishing to participate in the work of the OMF, still must register. As a member you will be eligible to attend seminars, and freely use the programs developed by the OMF.
an institute must physically support the work of the OMF. This could be by providing a mirror website, providing programming resources, or contributing to the specification or testing as applications are released. As a sustaining member you will receive early access to both applets and applications, and can attend workshop and training events, both on-site and classroom.
An executive member takes an active role in supporting OMF work. Typically this is through providing
postgraduate or undergraduate resources to complete and project manage packages of work
on behalf of the OMF. You will be required to attend, physically or virtually, four executive commitee
meetings per year and will be responsible together with other executive members for the
running, and finances of the Foundation.
As an executive member, together with your peers,
you will choose the direction of works carried out.
These include Pharmaceutical, Health Care, Biotech, Instrument, Compound Vendors, Computer Hardware / Software Organisations and Publishers. The same three membership groups apply.
No Charge. Free access to all applets served off the web, and the ability to attend seminars.
The fee is 2,000 GBP per annum:- You will receive both applets and applications, i.e. local copies to run on your intranet. You will be on the early access program, gain support from the hot line, and be invited to participate at workshops and training sessions. As a sustaining member you are free to submit ideas, comment on specifications and assist with the testing process.
The fee is 10,000 GBP per annum:- The executive committee decide on the program of work to be undertaken. You will be required to participate in committee meetings either physically or virtually via the internet. The organisation will normally recruit it's officers from the executive committee.
