Instructions for Use of the ConQuest Program

This starts up a program called ConQuest. The operation of this is fairly self-evident. Use the Molecular formula search in the present case. About 250000 entries are present on the database which are searched for matches to this formula. As a hit is found, its REFCODE appears in the ConQuest window. At any time you can select any entry and view its properties, including the original literature reference, a 3D structure and other properties.

• Record in your report any compound that bears any similarity to compound 6, including the literature reference.
• When the search is complete, you can optionally Export any entry. Select PDB format. The file will be saved on your User profile. This file can be copied (on windows machines) from the network drive if you wish to incorporate it into a lab report.
