Enantioselective binding

Different techniques including dialysis, solid-liquid chromatography on silica impregneted with DNA, which have been used previously to study the enantioselective binding of chiral metallo complexes to DNA, were examined with little or no success in the binding of TB with calf-thymus DNA. However, liquid-liquid partition of racemic TB between an aqueous solution of DNA and butanol proved quite successful. The methodology is described below, the two phases were examined by circular dichroism.
