HPLC and mass spectral analyses

The majority of the mixture reactions were very clean. Purification was done in most cases by filtration through a small plug of silica gel. Figure A shows a typical HPLC profile for a mixture. In this example (mixture #16), we accounted for all nine components of the mixture. Figure B shows a typical mass spectrum (in this case for mixture #16); we were able to account for all of the parent molecular ions.
