We have not considered to use the nitropyrimidinone for the construction of
thiophenes yet.
We would like to thank professor Gilbert Kirsch for his useful suggestion,
and to examine
the synthesis of nitrothiophenes with ring transformation of
1-methyl-5-nitropyrimidin-2(1H)-one.
