As a PhD student (2001-2004), Séverine Hebbe worked towards the asymmetric synthesis of nitrogen heterocycles in Prof. Agami's laboratory
in France (Pierre et Marie Curie University). As her first post doctorial position (2004-2005), Séverine joined Prof. Vasella's group at
ETH Zürich (Switzerland) where she synthesised oligonucleosides and studied their gelation properties. In the Barrett group, Séverine
is currently working towards the total synthesis of antifungal macrocyclic natural products. This methodology requires the use of an
asymmetric catalyst to produce highly functionalised enantiomeric b-lactone moieties and the synthesis of dimeric macrocycles by
intermolecular trapping of hydroxyl ketene. In her spare time Séverine likes to shop and explore the city of London. She regularly goes
back to her home in France where she likes to catch up with old friends also studying in foreign countries whilst visiting local attractions
such as Vincennes Park
