Sarah completed her MChem Chemistry with Industrial Experience at the University of Leeds in 2003, where she received the
Whitlaw-Graw prize for outstanding chemistry graduate of the year. As part of the course she spent a year working with
GlaxoSmithKline in Stevenage as a medicinal chemist, allowing her to earn a Silver level R & D recognition award. After a
gap year spent traveling in South-east Asia, Australia and South America, she is currently in her second year of a PhD in
the Barrett group, working on the total synthesis of bioactive macrocyclic natural products, utilising the novel strategy
of late-stage aromatization. In her spare time Sarah is training for her black-belt in karate and also enjoys organizing group
social activities.
