Peter Hannen carried out his undergraduate studies in 2002 at the Heinrich-Heine-University, Düsseldorf, Germany where he completed
his diploma thesis on the synthesis of new chiral phosphite-ligands for asymmetric catalysis.under the supervision of
Prof. M. Braun (HHU, Düsseldorf) and Dr. F. Rampf (Bayer AG, Leverkusen). Peter stayed in Germany where he completed his Ph.D.
thesis with Prof. A. Fürstner at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany where he worked towards
the development of methods for cycloisomerisation reactions and their application in natural product synthesis (phenanthrenes, sesquiterpenes).
Peter also worked as a research associate in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA under the supervision of Prof. M. Gagné
into the research on the field of neutral rhodium (I) complexes with dppe backbone as metallo-monomers in molecular imprinted polymers (MIP).
He is currently working on XXXX in Prof. Barretts group. In his spare time Peter likes swimming cycling and cooking.
