After completing his B.Sc. in Chemistry in 1999, Igor joined Prof. Felix Urpi and Pere Romea's group in Universitat de Barcelona
for his PhD where he worked in asymmetric C-glicosidation chemistry using chiral titanium enolates until 2004. During the course
of his PhD he also spent three months in Prof. Erick Carreira's group at ETH Zürich working in alkyne additions to aldehydes and
in the use of mesylates as phenol protecting groups. Since 2005 he is a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Barrett's group where he has
been working in benzylic oxidations catalyzed by bismuth, dihydroxilation of olefins and the total synthesis of Clavilactone B. In
his spare time he likes reading, hanging out with friends and enjoying London.
