Eva Ježek carried out her undergraduate studies at the University of Vienna, Austria, where she prepared her master thesis
in the research group of Prof. Edda Gössinger. For her PhD she moved to the University of Regensburg, Germany, to join the
group of Prof. Oliver Reiser. In the course of her PhD-studies and a three-month placement with the Shanghai Institute of Chemistry,
Shanghai, China, she was trained in the challenging field of natural product chemistry and devised a highly flexible and
enantioselective route for the synthesis of bi- and tricyclic sesquiterpenlactones and stemona alkaloids. She now works as a
postdoctoral research associate, funded by an Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship, in the group of Prof. Anthony Barrett on the total
synthesis of lactonamycin. In her spare times she loves to explore London's fabulous shopping streets and to relax afterwards in
Britain's numerous pubs.
