Bodo carried out his undergraduade studies at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität zu Münster, Germany and at the University
of Toledo, Ohio/USA. In 2002 he obtained his diploma degree in chemistry under the direction of Prof. Dieter Hoppe, where he
worked on chiral cuprates. For his PhD (2002-2005) he joined the research group of Prof. Alois Fürstner at the Max-Planck-Institut
für Kohlenforschung in Mülheim an der Ruhr. His PhD thesis deals with the development of iron-catalyzed cross coupling reactions
and the total syntheses of the biologically active, natural products (-)-Isooncinotine and the Dictyodendrines. Since August 2005
he has been a postdoc in the research group of Prof. Anthony G. M. Barrett, where he works in the field of medicinal chemistry.
In his spare time Bodo likes sightseeing, cooking, climbing and enjoying London with his friends.
