Andrea is Italian and moved to King’s College London in 2003 as an exchange student from Florence University. He carried
out his final undergraduate year studying the hetero Diels-Alder reactivity of oxazin-2-ones under the supervision of
Dr. K. Afarinkia. Andrea is currently a third year PhD student in the Barrett group working on synthesis and further
functionalization of novel highly hydrophilic Porphyrazines which could be used in the medicinal field. In his spare time
Andrea plays Capoeira and enjoys dj-ing around London and for special occasions organized for the whole Chemistry Department too.
